You are going to research the fusion of cultures in the Americas as evidenced in arts, music, architecture, cuisine or literature. As a result, you will create a page in the wiki where the outline for your project will reflect your research, create an essay and put a link to your visual presentation.

First step:

• Join the wiki

• Click on the New Page button and name the new page with your first name

• Click on the edit button above to put your own content on this page.

• On the top of the page put the topic of your research

1.Research process:

• Follow the steps of the research process:

  • read about your topic in encyclopedias, atlases. Use print and online formats, in Spanish and in English. (See Resources page).

  • narrow down the research topic and write it on the top of your page

  • Create Bibliography following citation rules (use easybib.com)

  • Adjust your project outline to the Rubric for Research

2. Essay:

• Under the outline write your essay. See the rubric for written presentation.

3. Visual Presentation:

• Decide what format of visual presentation you will use to demonstrate and present the results of the research to your class.

  • Consult the Technology tools page for idea

• Follow the Rubric for Presentation to prepare your project for demonstrating it and teaching the topic to your audience (class)

• You will need to rehearse your presentation and deliver it with fluent and fluid speech.

4.VoiceThread: This is your scripted version of your topic. You may use similar visuals as in your visual presentation. This presentation is more formal and your voice is recorded.

5. Respond to 2 VoiceThreads from your classmates.See suggested sentence starters.

Use the following sentence starters to shape your thoughts and comments while viewing or participating in VoiceThread presentations. Comments based on these kinds of statements make VoiceThreads interactive and engaging.
